BASIC FUNCTION:
Reports to the Director. Under the direction of the Director of the Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE) and/or the Deputy Director of OCE assists in the collection, organization, and analysis of documents, reports and other data concerning the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) and its grantees and, using such information, prepares a workplan and selects cases for review by OCE staff during the onsite review of grantees in addition to any combination of the duties listed below. Some travel may be required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the collection, organization, and analysis of documents, reports and other data concerning the LSC and its grantees.
Conducts research and prepares briefing materials for evaluators of LSC grantees and assists in compilation, review, and analysis of reports after the onsite visits.
May participate with review and evaluation teams conducting onsite reviews of grantee activities.
Constructs methods of data collection, organizes and compiles data for analysis, and designs methods of research relating to the LSC Act, regulations, guidelines, instructions etc.
Assists Program Counsel in OCE to investigate complaints filed against LSC grantees.
Prepares other informational materials for the Director and Deputy Director of OCE, as well as other LSC offices.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director or Deputy Director of OCE.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
General Must possess strong research, analytical, and writing skills, the ability to work independently, familiarity with the LSC Act and regulations, knowledge and experience in data computation, and the ability to analyze statistical and programmatic information.
Technical: Two years of research experience in law and/or social services or paralegal experience; or two years of college and four years of experience as described above; or a total of six years research experience is required.
