BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the Director of the Office of Compliance and Enforcement or his/her designee, may be assigned one or more of the listed duties and responsibilities. Frequent travel is required
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and investigates complaints and inquiries received from the public regarding recipients of LSC funding and makes recommendations regarding their resolution.
Participates in on-site reviews of recipients' Case Service Reporting (CSR), case management systems, complaint investigations, and writes reports pertaining to such visits.
Assists in the formulation of policies and procedures pertaining to complaint review and investigation.
Reviews and follows-up on findings referred by the Office of the Inspector General regarding recipient compliance with the LSC Act, appropriations acts and regulations, including the interpretation of regulations consistent with the Office of Legal Affairs/General Counsel opinions and overseeing the development and compliance with corrective action plans by recipients, as appropriate.
May participate in on-site capability assessment reviews and assist in drafting reports.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
General: Makes sound, well-informed and objective recommendations; understands the Corporation's mission and operation, understands trends that affect LSC, its recipients and their clients; displays high-level of initiative; works with minimal supervision.
Technical/Specialized: Admission to the Bar of the highest court in a jurisdiction and five (5) years experience in the practice of law. Detailed knowledge of and capacity to interpret the LSC Act, Appropriations Riders, LSC regulations, policies and rules. An understanding of the legal services delivery system. experience is required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience, plus an excellent benefits package.
