BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of the Director of the Office of Program Performance (OPP), makes travel arrangements for staff members of both OPP and the Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE). Prepares travel itineraries, travel requests and processes expense reports for staff following completion of travel.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Makes travel reservations for OPP and OCE staff members. Researches most cost effective travel arrangements. Consults a variety of published and Internet sources, including federal government travel agencies, for comparison of government rates and Internet rates for transportation, hotel accommodations and car rentals.
Prepares travel itineraries, travel requests and processes expense reports for staff following completion of travel.
Becomes knowledgeable of location of LSC grantee offices and researches accommodations in close proximity to offices, focusing on quality of the facility and amenities provided and considers such information when making travel reservations.
Provides guidance and direction to employees and managers in OPP and OCE on travel related issues and LSC Travel Policy. Coordinates and troubleshoots travel related issues with hotels, travel agents, airlines and others and with LSC's Office of Financial and Administrative Services, on behalf of the traveler.
Performs other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
General: Good organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills as well as the ability to communicate orally and in writing with staff at all levels and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously is required. Must also display a high-level of initiative and dependability.
Technical/Specialized: Six years experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience totaling a minimum of six years, three of which must include making travel arrangements. Thorough working knowledge of published and Internet sources for transportation, hotel accommodations and car rentals. Familiarity with federal travel regulations and prior experience processing travel requests and expense reports would also be a plus.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Hiring Range $46,586 - $65,890, dependent upon qualifications and experience, plus an excellent benefits package.
