LSC invites session proposals for the 2014 Technology Initiative Grants Conference; Deadline is August 19

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

From now through August 19, LSC is accepting proposals for workshop sessions to be presented at the 14th Annual Technology Initiative Grants (TIG) Conference.

LSC's TIG conference, scheduled for January 15-17, 2014, in Jacksonville, Fla., is the only national event focused exclusively on the use of technology in the civil legal aid community. The TIG conference provides a unique opportunity to learn about effective uses of technology in legal aid, network with a national community of colleagues and cultivate project ideas that could lead to successful TIG applications.

Session Proposals

The deadline to submit session proposals is Monday August 19, 2013. To submit a proposal, complete this form.

Session proposals should relate to how the use of technology can:

  • provide better self-help tools to assist persons whom legal services providers are not able to represent;
  • improve the efficiency and effectiveness of access, triage, intake, and internal legal services delivery operations;
  • encourage and support pro bono; address Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and other special needs populations;
  • deliver services remotely to hard-to-reach populations; or
  • provide legal services staff and pro bono advocates with better litigation and case development support.

Proposals could also explore new technology trends or showcase innovative projects to encourage replication.

Presenters for sessions selected may receive travel assistance from LSC. For more information on the 2014 TIG Conference, go to http://tig.lsc.gov/conference/upcoming-conference.
