Legal Services Corporation |
The Legal Services Corporation has just completed its second state planning technical assistance initiative. In April 1999, the Corporation provided $150,000 in technical assistance grants to assist 13 states with their state planning efforts. In September 1999, the Corporation made an additional $229,000 available to assist 24 states. The second initiative involves contracts with a number of organizations and consultants to provide assistance to states in the areas of client access, resource development, program and system evaluation, program merger, leadership development, and overall state planning. Approximately $20,000 of these funds are devoted to national technology and training initiatives which will benefit programs in all states. A summary appears below.
