LSC's Annual Black History Month Celebration | A Century of Black Life, History, and Culture

April 2, 2015

“The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) hosted the Annual Black History Month celebration on February 19th. The theme was “2015: A Century of Black Life, History, and Culture” and featured guest speaker Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of The Children’s Defense Fund.

This year’s celebration included the “Partnering for the Future” student project, which focuses on creating opportunities to encourage, strengthen, and inspire young people who may feel that success is beyond their reach. Students, parents, and school representatives from Perry Street Preparatory Public Charter School and Luke C. Moore Senior High School were invited to attend the LSC Black History Month program, and one student was selected to make an oral presentation on their submission.”
