Notice to All Interested Parties: Availability of 2016 Competitive Grant Funds for the Provision of Civil Legal Services in Southeastern Michigan

This notice serves as an announcement of the availability of Basic Field Grant funds for the provision of civil legal aid to eligible low-income people in southeastern Michigan. We intend to award grants in January 2016. The chart below lists the estimated annualized grant amount and the counties served under the grants.

Eligible applicants for LSC funding include:

  • current recipient
  • nonprofit organization that has, as a purpose, the provision of legal help to eligible clients
  • private attorney or group of attorneys or law firms (either as a non-incorporated body or as a nonprofit)
  • state or local government
  • sub-state regional planning or coordination agency that is composed of sub-state areas whose governing boards are controlled by locally-elected officials

Review the 2016 Standard Competition Grant Application for instructions on preparing the grant application in addition to the regulations and guidelines governing LSC funding and grant proposal submission requirements.

You must file a Notice of Intent to Compete to participate in the competitive grants process. The deadline to file the Notice of Intent to Compete is September 30, 2015 at 5 p.m. Eastern time. The deadline for filing grant proposals is October 23, 2015 at 5 p.m. Eastern time. All grant documents, including the Notice of Intent to Compete and the grant application must be submitted using our online grants application system. You must register for an account.
