  1. Quartely LSC Board of Directors Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio, July 21-23: In conjuntion with LSC's quarterly Board of Directors meeting, state supreme court justices, corporate general counsel, and leaders of the legal aid community will gather for a forum on ways to expand access to justice for low-income Americans.   2. Honors Ohio Attorneys for Pro Bono Service: LSC Board of Directors will present Pro Bono Service Awards on Thursday, July 20, to two Ohio attorneys, a corporate legal department, and a law firm in recognition of their extraordinary commitment to equal justice.
    The LSC Pro Bono Service Award Reception will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Squire Patton Boggs office at 4900 Key Tower, 127 Public Square. The awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with the LSC Board of Directors’ third quarterly meeting of the year. Read more about the Pro Bono Awards here.
  3. Reddit Campaign: On monday, July 10th, the Reddit Legal Advice community (r/LegalAdvice) launched a two-week charity fundraising campaign to benefit LSC. Reddit is a discussion website divided by topic into user-created pages. The r/LegalAdvice page is comprised of experts and those involved with civil legal aid organizations and has over 215,000 subscribers. The Reddit Legal Advice community decided on their own to undertake this campaign. During Reddit’s campaign, they will highlight topics that are important to our mission. On Wednesday, July 12th, LSC staff Mark Freedman, Martin Costello, and David Bonebrake participated in an “AMA”, (ask me anything session) during which they answered questions regarding the history of LSC, the importance of access to justice, and LSC grant programs.
