Online Unemployment Benefits Systems Buckle Under New Applicant Wave

As unemployment claims hit unprecedented levels, digital systems meant to provide benefits to workers are showing signs of strain. In states like Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan and Hawaii, the online benefits systems have buckled under the surge of new applicants. Access to systems are now also compromised, as public spaces like libraries that offered access to computers for people to file for benefits are now closed.
