Albany County Helping Residents With Legal Questions Amid COVID-19

Albany County Executive Dan McCoy held a press briefing Thursday morning. Lillian M. Moy, Executive Director of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, joined the briefing to discuss her organization's efforts to provide legal advice to residents during the ongoing pandemic.

“A lot of people who are having trouble filling their unemployment insurance claim or getting it processed, a lot of delays, a lot of confusion about the moratorium on evictions, and what does it mean? We're seeing a lot of confusion. Legal Aid strategically created its COVID-19 legal response, a large part of which is our COVID-19 legal line,” Moy said, encouraging residents to call their hotline at 1-833-628-0087.
