MEDIA ADVISORY: LSC Board to Meet Jan. 30-31

Washington, DC - The Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation will meet in Washington, D.C., on January 30 and 31. Board sessions will be held at the LSC offices at 3333 K Street NW.

The LSC Board will hear from current and former grantee board chairs on program governance and oversight. Scheduled speakers include Michael Doucette of Virginia Legal Aid Society, Robert Goodin of Bay Area Legal Aid of California, Diane Kutzko of Iowa Legal Aid, Marjorie Anne McDiarmid of Legal Aid of West Virginia, and Fern Schair of Legal Services NYC. The board also will act on reports from its committees on audit, finance, governance and performance review, operations and regulations and delivery of legal services.

The Legal Services Corporation is a federally funded nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting equal access to justice and to providing high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income individuals and families. LSC funds 137 civil legal aid programs with more than 920 offices across the nation.
