No money and no home; hundreds of Wayne residents facing eviction

Hundreds of Wayne County residents have faced evictions during the pandemic despite the CDC moratorium, and hundreds more may be evicted if it expires at the end of the month, advocates say.

The CDC moratorium is meant to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 that happens when evicted families move in with others or pile into already crowded homeless shelters.

Landlords say they have been flexible with their tenants during the pandemic, but some tenants are taking advantage of the moratorium and landlords have bills to pay, too.
