Monday, September 17, 2012

Washington, DC— Lynn A. Jennings today joined the staff of the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) as vice president for grants management. She will oversee LSC’s day-to-day programmatic operations, competitive grant process, and assessment and oversight of grantees.

“Lynn is a strong addition to our team,” said President James J. Sandman. “She has worked at the White House and on Capitol Hill and has held senior positions at federal agencies and nonprofit organizations. She has experience in grantmaking, both as a funder and as a grant recipient. Her broad expertise will be very helpful to LSC.”

Prior to joining LSC, Jennings was the principal at Jennings Solutions, LLC, a management consulting firm. Her more than 20 years of experience includes serving as executive vice president and vice president for strategic initiatives at The Council for Excellence in Government, as director of strategic initiatives at the CNA Corporation’s Institute for Public Research, as general counsel for the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board, and as acting assistant secretary for policy and senior advisor to the secretary at the U.S. Department of Labor.

Jennings earned her law degree from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America and her Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Rochester.

Established by Congress in 1974, LSC is the single largest funder of civil legal assistance in the nation. The Corporation’s mission is to provide equal access to justice and to ensure the delivery of high-quality civil legal aid to low-income Americans. LSC grants help address the civil legal needs of the elderly, victims of domestic violence, veterans seeking benefits to which they are entitled, persons with disabilities, tenants facing unlawful evictions, and other civil matters.
