Senate passes $540M for legal services in FY 2026
The U.S. Senate voted to provide $540 million for the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) for Fiscal Year 2026 as a part of the bipartisan minibus that includes the Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies appropriation. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the minibus January 8; President Donald Trump is expected to sign the bill.

LSC Awards $4.2M in Technology Grants and Releases Tech Summit Report
The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) announced today that it is awarding 32 Technology Initiative Grants (TIG) totaling $4.2 million to organizations in 22 states. The TIG program awards special funding to legal services organizations to support innovative uses of technology and enhance their technical capacity. The awards are announced in tandem with a new LSC report, “The Next Frontier: Harnessing Technology to Close the Justice Gap.”
