Overview

On Thursday, December 2, 2021, Congress passed a new Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the federal government at FY2021 levels through February 18, 2022. Until a final FY2022 Appropriation is enacted, 2022 basic field grant allocations will be based on the current CR, which provides basic field grant funding at the FY2021 level of $425.5 million, as well as the Congressionally-mandated triennial reallocations based on updated poverty population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. The 2022 basic field grant allocations will also reflect adjustments based on the 2021 LSC Agricultural Worker Poverty Population estimates provided by the Department of Labor.

The 2022 funding decisions, based on the current CR, are available in the 2022 Grant Allocations chart linked below. The funding chart shows the funding term, the grant amount, and the year of the next grant cycle for each service area. LSC will adjust the funding allocations once the final FY2022 Appropriation is enacted.

LSC Notice of Intent to Award 2022 Grant Funds

On November 8, 2021, LSC published a list of the grant applicants under consideration for the calendar year 2022 Basic Field Grant awards in the Federal Register. Grants will be awarded so that each service area is served; however, none of the listed organizations is guaranteed an award or contract. The funding estimates may change based on the final FY2022 appropriation. In addition, Agricultural Worker service area population estimates are subject to change based on the Department of Labor review and comments LSC receives during the 30-day comment period.

Compare 2021 allocations with projected 2022 allocations at three different FY22 congressional appropriation levels.
