New Mexico Legal Aid wins $70K in unemployment benefits lawsuit

New Mexico paid out more than $4 billion in state and federal unemployment benefits to New Mexicans since the beginning of the pandemic. But all that money may not have reached everyone entitled to it.

That's what a judge determined last month – the result of a lawsuit against the Department of Workforce Solutions by New Mexico Legal Aid on behalf of seven people who were eligible for unemployment but were denied.
