Leaders from faith organizations and mission-driven nonprofits discuss the connections between faith communities and legal services on Talk Justice. For many, faith provides guiding principles, like the instruction to help those in need. The Salvation Army recently launched their Faith and Community Based Organizations’ Disaster Training. LSC developed a Faith Community Outreach Toolkit to help faith leaders understand the role of legal services.

Meghan graduated from Colby College. After teaching in New Orleans post-Katrina, Meghan worked for Catholic Charities, American Red Cross, and United Way. She has supported several federal disasters including the Disaster Horizon oil spill response, long-term recovery after flooding in Louisiana and Hurricane Irma, Hurricanes Dorian and Ian response, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Meghan currently serves as the National Emergency Disaster Services Director at The Salvation Army.

Will A. Gunn is the Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel for the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). In 2009, he was appointed by President Barack Obama as the General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, a position in which he served for five years. Subsequently, he was an attorney with a solo law practice, assisting military members facing adverse actions.
