Rebecca Fertig Cohen has served as LSC’s Chief of Staff since 2015 and was appointed Corporate Secretary in February 2020. She first joined LSC as the Special Assistant to the President in 2012.
Prior to joining LSC, she served in the Obama Administration at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in the office of Legislative & Public Affairs as a Congressional Liaison Officer. She worked closely with bureaus across the agency to help advocate their legislative interests before Congress.
Before joining the Obama Administration, she served as the Deputy Director in New York State Governor David A. Paterson’s Washington, D.C. Office. She initially joined the Spitzer Administration as a Federal Policy Analyst before transitioning to Governor Paterson’s Administration. The office is tasked with developing and implementing federal legislative and advocacy strategies to advance the federal priorities of the state. Prior to that, she served as the Central New York Regional Representative for former U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (NY) overseeing all matters in a 16-county region, including meeting with businesses and community leaders, monitoring constituent issues, and organizing events for the senator.
She holds a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and a B.A. from Colgate University. She is admitted to practice law in New York State and the District of Columbia.
