What would happen if your home, your children, your personal safety – everything you had worked for in life was suddenly at risk – and you had no one to stand up for you?

This is the situation millions of low-income Americans face every year when they cannot afford a lawyer.

For them, the best hope often comes from a community legal aid program funded by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). LSC is the nation’s largest single funder of civil legal aid for low-income Americans.

At a time when all sources of funding for legal aid are in jeopardy, legal aid programs are even more dependent on LSC’s funding and support. Federal and other sources of funding for LSC grantees have fallen while the number of people eligible for civil legal aid has grown.

LSC is thankful to all of its funders and partners that support LSC’s efforts to extend and amplify the work of civil legal aid providers around the country, helping them keep America’s promise of “Justice for All.”
